In 2022, our family purchased a second home on Beech Mountain, and it quickly became our favorite escape from the Piedmont.  Living two hours away, we experienced firsthand the need for someone local we could trust to check on our home after storms, handle the unexpected, or simply provide peace of mind while we were away.

 

That's why we created High Country Home—to give fellow homeowners the confidence that their mountain home is in caring, reliable hands.

 

Meet Hal Ingram, Founder of High Country Home

Hal Ingram brings 16 years of law enforcement and military leadership to High Country Home. Raised in High Point, NC, Hal attended Lees-McRae College, where he played lacrosse and earned his degree in 2005 — putting down roots right here in the High Country.

 

After college, Hal enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as an infantryman with two tours in Iraq. He went on to a distinguished career in law enforcement, supervising patrol divisions and developing emergency response protocols to keep the community safe. Today, Hal serves with the Watauga County Sheriff's Office as the standing School Resource Officer at Blowing Rock School.

 

That same discipline, attention to detail, and calm-under-pressure mindset now shapes how Hal runs High Country Home — bringing clients and property owners the same level of trust, reliability, and care he's built his career on.
